Vendors have been crying-out Peanuts,
Cracker
Jack! In ball parks (and at circuses and carnivals) at least since the
early 1900s. Cracker Jack, now a
trademark of the Borden Co., was first
sold, under another name, in 1893. The cry is often hears as Peanuts,
popcorn, Cracker Jax (Jacks)! The words have been inextricably linked with
baseball since 1908, when the song "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" was
published, its lyrics including the line "Buy me some peanuts and
crackerjacks, I don't care if I never get back." Many millions of boxes of
Crackerjacks are sold every year.
