Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus). Though it has also been called the
ground mulberry, the cloudberry is a member of the raspberry family. This European native bears juicy, amber-colored fruits that taste
something like apricots. They are delicious eaten fresh or as preserves,
but are rarely grown in the home garden because the plan needs lots of
space for its long underground rhizomes to grow and requires cool, boggy
conditions to do well. The cloudberry is known as maroshka in Russia, in
Scotland as avrons, and in Norway as molteberry. It is easily propagated
by seed or by planting.
